Shullsburg's primary business district was built between 1840 and 1905 and contains one to three-story commercial buildings, several churches, and a few private homes. Designed mostly in vernacular style, many show influence of popular architectural styles of the time, such as Greek Revival, Italianate, and Classical Revival.
