Currently functioning as the Green Bay Correctional Institution, this district of seven historic buildings is located near the Fox River south of Green Bay. The Administration Building (1906-1912) and the North Cell House (1898-1903) and South Cell House (1915-1922) were designed by Milwaukee architects Ferry and Clas in Romanesque Revival style. The 22-foot high concrete wall and guard towers were built between 1916 and 1920 with convict labor. |
