Including 54 historic buildings, this district consists of groups of commercial buildings on West Milwaukee Street. Constructed of brick between 1855 and 1938, these mostly two-story buildings are designed in Italianate, Queen Anne, Neo-Classical, and commercial vernacular styles. Developed to serve residents on the west side of the Rock River, the area includes two churches.
