Kenosha Elks Club 5706 Eight Avenue, Kenosha, Kenosha County Architect: Robert A. Messmer Date of Construction: 1919 The Kenosha Elks Club was completed in 1919 in Kenosha, Wisconsin and designed by architect Robert A. Messmer. It was built for and was occupied by Kenosha’s local chapter of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, lodge No. 750, for nearly eight decades. The building is fine local example of Georgian Revival architecture, characterized by its prominent colonnade and decorative brickwork. Interior event and social spaces, including the second floor grand ballroom, reflect the building’s long history as the local headquarters for the Elks fraternal organization. Dedicated in 1919, the Kenosha Elks Club remains one of the city’s largest institutional buildings and served as a hub of Kenosha civic and social life until the building’s closure in the 1990s. This property is private. Please respect the rights and privacy of the owners. |
