| These four buildings near downtown provided accommodations for spring resort tourists and housing for prominent citizens: the 2-story Italianate Putney Cottage (1871) and 406 Wisconsin Avenue; Hadfield House, a large guest house moved to 402 Wisconsin Avenue in 1883; Showerman House (1900), a smaller guest house at 352 Wisconsin Avenue; and Street-Wait House (1880s), a private residence at 348 Wisconsin Avenue. |
