Lining both sides of Langdon Street from Lake Street to Wisconsin Avenue and including all the building on the Lake Mendota waterfront, the district contains 89 buildings constructed between 1870 and 1930, including a high concentration of period revival styles and good examples of Second Empire, Queen Anne, Prairie School, and Bungalow. The buildings represent several distinct periods in Madison's social and academic history.
