Additional Information: | 2024: Contributing to the proposed Racine Street Historic District. The M. Passage House is a two-story, Queen Anne-style house constructed c.1890. It has a rectilinear footprint, stone foundation, vinyl replacement siding, and is topped by a cross-gabled roof sheathed in asphalt shingles. Fenestration primarily consists of original, wood frame picture windows and one-over-one, double-hung, vinyl replacement sash windows with simple wood surrounds. The primary, south façade is dominated by a two-story, front-gabled bay with a cutaway bay window on the first story. The main entrance is located east of the front-gable bay and recessed against the façade. It is sheltered by a front-gabled porch with turned wood posts and spindlework frieze and approached by a wood decked porch. Additional Queen Anne details include a wood shingle accent on the façade, cottage and multi-pane transoms over the picture windows, and returned eaves on the gables. |
