Additional Information: | In 1916, August Koeller purchased seventeen acres along the eastern shore of North Twin Lake; he settled there in 1919. That year he established the Sandy Beach Resort which consisted of a main lodge and four cottages. Five cottages were added later. Jerry Sobiek, the current proprietor, bought the property in 1970 and ran it for ten years. After selling in 1980, he purchased it again 1989 and sold off the cottages. The Sobiek-owned property now consists of the main lodge building/restaurant and two rentals; however, additional rentals are located adjacent to either side. The Sobieks remodeled the lodge's dining room and kitchen and added on living quarters to the south. The lodge is now run by Sobiek's daughter, Jill Mitchell. Destroyed by fire. |
