Additional Information:WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLE. WRAP AROUND PORCH W/SMALL BALCONY ON FRONT. Richard and Julia Shimmins lived here from about 1902-1922. They moved into the house from their farm (Section 2, Darien Township) in 1902, when their youngest daughter, Hazle, was ten years old. Richard fought in the Civil War with Wisconsin Twenty-Second Infantry, CO. D. He died in 1907, and his widow lived in the house until 1922 or 1923, when she moved to Hazle and Victor Walker's house at 230 N. 4th St. in Delavan, where she died in 1925.
