NOTES
Additional Information:Previously surveyed in 1974 and cited as 222 S. Main Street. 2010: Plat maps indicate that the owner of the parcel in 1891 was Mrs. R.C. Hubbell. Assessor's information dates the house to 1910. Based on appearance, the house likely dates to around the turn of the twentieth century. The 1921 and 1930 plats identify L. Loynes as the home's owner; the 1930 census identifies the widowed Ellen Loynes as living along S. Main Street. Per information supplied by Nancy Lehman, President of the Historical Society of Walworth & Big Foot Prairie, Inc. (letter dated 26 February 2012), while Hubbell was indeed the owner in 1891, the correct owners in 1921 and 1930 was veterinarian Dr. Ralph Wilkinson. She is also in possession of a 1904 photograph of the home that shows the porch posts and trim as significantly more ornate than what is present today. In the photo were Charles A. & Minnie Alberth (ancestors of Nancy Lehman), who were renters there in 1904. 2010: Rising from a fieldstone foundation, this clapboard-sheathed, one-and-one-half-story, gabled ell features an open, shed- roof porch at its southwest corner, which shelters the home’s primary entry. Above the porch is a shed-roofed wall dormer that carries a one-over-one-light sash window. Both the primary (west) and south gabled wings feature a one-story, rectangular bay with a shed roof. Each bay includes a single sash window on its side walls, while two windows occupy the central wall space of the bay. Upper-story windows are paired within a wooden surround that is topped with a slightly raised, but flat hood. A one-story, gabled wing extends from the rear of the house. 2024: Resurveyed. New aluminum siding added and some ornamentation lost. Update photo.
