Additional Information: | SALT-BOX ROOF OLD, MULTI-COLORED BRICK 2016 This 1-story Side Gabled house at 622 E. Clay Street (AHI# 10388) was constructed c.1860. It is rectangular in plan with brick walls and a metal-clad gable roof. The front elevation faces south and is asymmetrical in plan due to uneven fenestration. A shed-roofed porch with a concrete slab foundation and standard lumber supports spans the width of the façade; the porch shelters three 1-over-1 windows and a single door. Corrugated metal siding has been added to the northern ends of both side elevations. The house is in good condition but retains a moderate-to-low degree of integrity due to the insensitive replacement of the original roof material, the loss of an original chimney, and the addition of metal cladding to portions of the building. |
