Additional Information: | August Talbert was the builder. 2021: This two story Queen Anne style house was built in 1888 for Joseph Emmerling. The house is irregular in plan and has a hipped roof with multiple lower gables. The house has a stone foundation and asbestos siding. The house retains most of its original windows, including one-over-one double hungs and small square windows with multi-light borders. The house also retains much original trim, including window trim, bargeboards, scroll cut corner brackets that incorporate spindlework and incised starfish-shaped ornament, and an exuberant porch with fluted square posts, spindlework frieze, dentil cornice, and projecting gable with square butt shingle cladding. |
