It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. An additional current name is the Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Church. John Wink was the builder. Addition added in 1908. Frame church in the Queen Anne style, with a clapboard and shingle exterior and a brick foundation. The rear addition, constructed in 1908, enlarged the original 32' by 50' edifice. Christ chruch began as a mission church in 1895, with services held in Oddfellows Hall in Bay View. On September 10, 1895, the congregation was formally established as Evangelische Christus Gemeinde with nine charter members of German descent. In 1938 the building was sold to the Hungarian Evangelical and Reformed Congregation, formed in 1928. |
