Additional Information: | Resurveyed as part of Milwaukee Downtown Connector Arch/History Survey (2010), Prepared by Heritage Research. 2010: This 14-story, Contemporary-style apartment building is sheathed with brick. It is defined by corner windows and prow-like bays outfitted with green metal panels and plate-glass/awning windows set within exposed aluminum framing. The first level is recessed and is sheathed with irregular stone panels. A thin, flat canopy projects from the main entrance on the northwest facade. Known as The Newport, this building was constructed in 1959. It was built by Cream City Construction Company and designed by Orrenburg & Finfer of Chicago. |
