Additional Information: | BARGE BOARDS AND WOOD SHINGLES IN GABLESSPINDLED PORCH 2019: This building is a two story, cross gabled Queen Ann style house that sits on a cut block foundation. It’s date of construction is ca. 1900. The house is clad in vinyl siding and the roof is surfaced with asphalt shingles. A hip-roofed porch begins at the center of the ground story of the front of the house and wraps around to the west side. The porch displays a spindle work frieze and a replacement balustrade with slender, turned balusters. Between 1975 and 1992, the fish-scale shingles and decorative bargeboards that embellished the front gable have been removed. Many windows were also replaced, and a pair of windows in the front gable were expanded to accommodate a bay window. |
