Additional Information: | 2019: This two-and-one-half-story house was constructed in 1896. It is sheathed in brick veneer and rests on a stone foundation partially covered with stucco. Asphalt shingles cover the front-gable roof with a central brick chimney, overhanging eaves, and hip gable dormers with flared eaves to the side elevations. The gable ends have wood fish-scale shingles, and the dormers have square wood shingles. Windows include one-over-one, double-hung sash and a paired casement window in the gable end on the front (south) facade. Windows on the first and second stories have stone sills and lintels. A covered porch located on the front facade has original wood double doors and storm doors with a flat roof, square wood supports, and a wooden railing. The side (west) elevation has an infilled window and door, and the side (east) elevation has a modern concrete stoop and second-story deck. According to a previous survey form, John Malaney, a steamfitter who worked as a superintendent at Madison Gas & Electric (MG&E), owned the home and rented it to tenants between 1896 and 1911. |
