DOE prepared by Heritage Research (2010). This structure is typical of the large early 20th century apartment buildings. It is one of the many such apartment buildings designed by Herbert Tullgren. 24-unit apartment building built by Milwaukee Building & Construction Company, which served as the firm's real estate development company. The building featured 4, 5 and 6 room apartments. 2010: This three-story, Neoclassical Revival-style, brick, garden court apartment building is U-shaped. The main entrance is inside the U and contains a segmentally arched transom and sidelights. The outside corners of the two side blocks contained recessed balconies supported by a square brick post while the inside corner of those same blocks is rounded. The top and bottom of the parapet is highlighted by a plain stone band with the parapet itself adorned with wreath decorations executed in raised brick. Fenestration is regularly placed and consists of three-over-one, double-hung sashes underlined with stone sills. |
