| Additional Information: | AMTRACK STOP AS OF 1995 (discontinued 2006). POLYGONAL TOWER W/PAVILION ROOF W/WIDELY FLARING EAVES. BRACKETS UNDER EAVES. STAMPED BRICK PAVEMENT. The depot was built with two waiting rooms to accommodate passengers transferring from the Chicago-Milwaukee line to the several trains that traveled throughout Racine and southwest as far as Kansas City. By 1912, over 65 trains a day came through Sturtevant. This depot is the only remaining Milwaukee Road station that has a corner turret. Scheduled for moving or demolition in June 2009. As of 8/24/2009, the building was being moved to a park in Caledonia. |
