GREEK REVIVAL DOORWAY W/MOLDED PANELS. 2 TIERED SIDE DORIC PORCH. -- Porch removed and corbeled chimneys topped--Heritage Research (2000). Charles Moe was born in New York in 1819. He arrived in Waterford in 1848 and worked as a cooper and, by 1850 as a miller. In 1868, he was a partner in a general store located at 219 W. Main Street (AHI # 12368). With regard to his involvement with the community, he was a Free Mason, Democrat and member of the Methodist Church. He died in 1903. In 1905, the home was sold to Gunner Knutson, who appears to have been retired by this time. His wife Emma maintained the house until at least 1940.
