NOTES
Additional Information:A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The Prairie School is an independent, coeducational college preparatory day school located in Wind Point. Designed by Taliesin Associated Arechitects, the school retains the Frank Lloyd Wright architectural concepts, including elliptical and circular-shaped walls of reddish Streator brick and cypress. One large circular building houses the lower and middle schools. They are joined to another semicircular building which houses the upper, or high school. At one end is the school's circular library. In the circles are open, round courtyards. SEE ZIMMERMAN #918 FOR AERIEL VIEW. ORIGINAL SHAPE WAS 2/3 CIRCLE. CONSTRUCTION DATE: 1965-1991.
