Additional Information: | One of the few Gothic Revival houses remaining in southeastern Wisconsin, this humble frame dwelling was built in two stages. Mr. Thomas moved here from Chicago and by 1852 had purchased a 65-acre tract and built the rear section of the house. The date when the front was added is not known. Especially interesting are the unusual scroll-cut bargeboards, the beautifully proportioned front porch and the lancet window over the porch with its hood molding. POINTED ARCHED WINDOW W/ DRIPSTONE LINTEL IN GABLE. QUATREFOILS IN BALCONY RAIL. SCROLL CUT BARGE BOARDS IN GABLE. |
