Additional Information: | Original cost $3,000. 1943-45 North 3rd Street is a two story, classically detailed brick commercial structure. It features a pedimented cornice simple detailed, with brick corbelling below. Stone quoins form end piers. Double hung one over one winodws are topped by arched brick hoodmolds with keystones. Stone sills separate the second floor from the storefront. A lower cornice echoes the pediment of the upper cornice. A center door leading to the stairway is flanked by two piers; present storefronts (2) are not original, feature recessed doors. Excellent example of a small cream brick commercial block in nearly original condition. Locally designated district: 11/12/85. |
