Additional Information: | Original address was 211-212 Main Street. In 1898 211 Main housed Ole Bilstad Drug Store and 212 Main was the A.C. Amundson General Store. The upstairs hall was used as an opera house. Bilstad's Drug remained until at least 1919. A 1932 Sanborn shows 211 Main as a drug store at that time, however it is unclear whether Bilstad was involved. In the 212 Main St store, Louis Severson assumed control of Amundson's general store by 1902 and operated it until at least 1909. Little as is known about the space until Ralph and Ella Tellefson opened the Cottage Restaurant there in the 1940s. The upstairs opera house was called the Princess Theater from circa 1917 through the 1940s. |
