By 1890, this property was owned by Ole Bilstad. He was a partner with merchant/druggist T.C. Slagg and later operated his own drug, stationary, paint, and wallpaper store. He was also the manager of the Cambridge Opera House. Ole remained the owner until at least 1915, when his son Gunerius Bilstad assumed ownership. Gunerius was a physician who ran an office in the front of the house and resided in the rear.
