Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Was demolished in February of 2012. 2010- "This previously inventoried, Wrightian style office building is located on the south side of University Avenue. It faces north (toward University Avenue) and its long axis is oriented perpendicular to University Avenue. The building features an asymmetrical footprint due in part to what appear to be multiple building additions. However, the majority of the building is constructed of concrete block. From the front of the property, the building is one-story, but at the rear, is built into a small hill that allows for another story on most sections of the building. The building's cladding incorporates a mix of concrete and cement stucco, and prefabricated materials like wood and metal paneling, vertical wood siding, and aluminum siding. The building design also utilizes a multitude of window openings to allow for abundant light; floor-to-ceiling glass, single transoms, plate glass, and window banding can be observed throughout the building. The flat and low-pitched roofs are sheathed with asphalt shingles and metal and display broad overhangs. Although a newer addition at the rear is less than 50 years of age, it is not observable from the facade. The building maintains excellent integrity, although it is currently mostly vacant." - "CTH MS (University Ave), Allen Boulevard-N Segoe Rd", WisDOT ID #5992-08-12(79), Prepared by Rachel E Bankowitz and Elizabeth L Miller (2010). |
