It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. Joseph M. Mertz was the builder. Interesting example of an unusual dwelling form, which has retained nearly all its original detailing. Joseph M. Mertz is listed in the 1900, 1910, & 1920 census records as living in this home, which was 1499 10th St, before the address changes of 1930. He died in 1928 and his wife, Catherine (Dickmann) lived in the house until her death in 1950 (per obituary).
