DESIGNED BY ARTHUR GUILBERT (1869-1922) A LOCAL ARCHITECT WHO PRACTICED HERE FROM 1903 UNTIL HIS DEATH IN 1922.tHE CLUBHOUSE WAS BUILT BY RACINE LODGE NO.252 OF THE BENEVOLET AND PROTECTIVE ORDER OF ELKS, WHICH HAD BEEN ORGANIZED IN 1893. AMONG ITS MEMBERS WERE MANY OF RACINE'S LEADING BUSINESSMEN AND POLITICIANS, SUCH AS ALEXANDER HORLICK AND WALTER S. GOODMAN. THE LODGE MAINTAINED THE CLUBHOUSE UNTIL 1985, WHEN IT WAS SOLD AND REMODELED FOR OFFICES.
