It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. PALLADIAN MOTIF FALSE FRONT. PALLADIAN WINDOW ON FALSE FRONT. ROUND ARCHED WINDOWS AND DOOR ON FRONT. POINTED ARCHED WINDOWS ON SIDES. This building was purchased in 1892 by the Czech Slavic Benevolent Society. This society was formed by the merger of various Czech benevolent, patriotic, and gymnastic societies. Between 1860 and 1900, thousands of Czech-speaking immigrants settled in Racine. Many of them were employed by Mayor Martin Secor, himself a Czech, at his trunk and traveling bag industry.
