Additional Information: | In 1877, the building was enlarged from 20x40 to 20x100. Locally designated 11-17-87. Excellent example of an ornate stone facade, Queen Anne style commercial block with elaborate decorative elements with its upper floors in nearly original condition. Altered storefronts. Original occupants of this building were Montgomery Ward and Co. which began business in Milwaukee as Dickson & Berry Dry Goods in 1877. Resurveyed in 2013: Complete façade replacement The grocery store of J.M. Fox was later at this location. |
