Additional Information: | Builder was Hartkopf. Studley was the president of the Riverside Sanitarium but lived in this house for only a few years. Unusual architect designed frame residence for this date. Full front porch and jerkinhead roof precurse bungalow form. Original in form and appearance. Resurveyed April 2017; subsequent alterations include the re-shingling of the roof and the replacement of the original 15-over-1 windows in the larger dormer. This 2-story Bungalow was constructed in 1902. It is rectangular in plan with aluminum siding and an asphalt-shingled side-gabled roof with clipped gable ends. The front elevation faces east and is asymmetrical in plan with a recessed porch spanning the width of the façade. The porch has narrow, engaged column supports and has been enclosed with banks of 1-over-1 windows. Two dormers project from the front roof slope. The larger dormer is front-gabled and contains a central bank of single-pane sliding windows. The smaller dormer has a sloping, pyramidal roof and contains a 15-over-one window. |
