It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. SHINGLED GABLES. SPINDLED ORNAMENT. South Side Historic District Walking Tour Guide, 1993: "By 1850 Elihu Filer, a carpenter, had built the house that became the rear wing of the building. George and Margaret Judd bought it in 1857. Both George and his son A. Cary, were lawyers and the Judd family lived in the older house for thirty years. In 1887 it was sold to John and Julia Rogers, who built the huge Queen Anne addition in the front. Mr. Rogers was an officer of the Racine Gas Company. In 1894 this became the home of Charles and Jessie Freeman. He was president of S. Freeman and Sons Manufacturing Company, which made agricultural implements and boilers for Case thresing machines and others. The house remained in the Freeman family until 1954." 2016- "You have to explore this house to fully comprehend it. Behind a Queen Anne addition to the front of this house, you will find Greek Revival traits. Since World War I, this residence has been home to more the one family at a time." -"41st Annual Tour of Historic Places: Southside Historic District", Preservation Racine News, Fall 2016, Volume 6.
