| Additional Information: | This memorial was moved in 2001 due to the expanding of the Hwy23 & 26 intersection. It is now located adjacent to 105 S. Main St. This is a pinecone-shaped monument, mounted on a concrete slab and rising from a base of large, uncoursed stones. A cut stone carved with "1924" is centered on the side. The monument was constructed by August Bluemke in memory of his wife Emma who had died of a heart attack on the front porch of their home in 1921. It is made of a variety of smooth rocks, stones and pebbles that Mr. Bluemke collected from the Lake Michigan shore in the years following Emma's death. |
