The building was constructed as a lasting memorial to those who died in war. COMMEMORATES THOSE WHO SERVED AND DIED IN ALL WARS BUT IT WAS ORIGINALLY BUILT BY CITIZENS AS A MEMORIAL OF THE DEAD OF WWI. IT IS A MUNICIPAL AUDITORIUM, AN EXPOSITION HALL, AND A MEETING PLACE FOR CIVIC ORGANIZATIONS.
