Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This structure is typical of WWI period apartment buildings. Devoid of almost all embellishments its form reflects the utilitarian purpose of its design. 2014- "The Grand Ann Apartments is a five-story Tudor Revival apartment building designed by Leiser and Holst and constructed in 1918. It has a rectangular plan, raised foundation of poured concrete with some brick decoration, and a flat roof with a decorative parapet. It is clad in red brick, with decorative basket weave brickwork between each story. It has minimal ornamentation aside from the limestone flower carvings in the decorative parapet. The main entrance is centered on the front (south) facade of the building. It is raised and recessed back from the sidewalk and is flanked by brick bollards with limestone volutes. The building appears to retain a majority of its historic, four-over-one, double-hung, wood sash windows, which are grouped in threes with limestone sills and no lintels." -"W Wisconsin Ave, 20th St-35th St", WisDOT #2190-00-00, Prepared by Mead & Hunt, Inc.
