Additional Information: | HALF-ROUND FANLIGHT IN FRONT GABLE. SMALL GABLE IN REAR. TRANSOMS OVER WINDOWS AND DOORS. About 1921, an Orthodox synagogue, Beth Israel, was organized on Racine's southside for the increasing Jewish population. A Reformed synagogue, Sinai, had been organized in 1920 but merged with Beth Israel to form the present Temple Beth Israel-Sinai. Prior to the construction of its new synagogue, the congregation met in this building. |
