Additional Information: | ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: This Structure is a fine example of surviving post Civil War rural architecture. Typical of those built on Milwaukee County farms, this building appears to retain its original form and design. The only real alteration was the front porch which seems to have been added about 1890. Construction date, 1869. (1) Hans Crocker Farm, 1824-45. (2) Ed. Wiesner Farm, 1845-49. (2) Anton Oppman Farm, 1849-51. (2) Jacob Wagner Farm, 1851-53. (2) Hemrich Kuenneth Farm, 1853-73. (2) Isaac Von Houte Farm, 1873-85. (2) 2016 - "This cream brick gable ell house was constructed c.1870. The two-story, symmetrical front gable portion features a wide, plain frieze board and an oculus window. There are two segmental arch window openings per floor, each fitted with a replacement one-over-one sash window. The window openings have wood sills and brick soldier course lintels. The two-story, side gable ell has been concealed by an enclosed porch addition with vertical vinyl siding and a metal sheathed hip roof. Other visible alterations include vinyl soffits. The only other building or structure on the property is a modern detached garage." -"S 60th St: W Morgan Ave-W Kinnickinnnic River Pkwy", WisDOT#2415-00-01, Prepared by Commonwealth Heritage Group, (2016). |
