Additional Information:Hudson, a Massachusetts native, settled in Janesville in 1848. In 1853 he was elected Janesville's first city attorney. In 1856, he was elected presiding judge of the city's court system, and in 1858, was elected mayor. In 1863, he was once again elected presiding judge of the city's court system. Hudson lived in this house from 1858 to 1880. The second owner of the house was E. L. Foote of Echlin and Foote, clothiers.

"A native of Massachusetts, Hudson settled in Janesville in 1848. In 1853 he was elected the first City Attorney, and in 1858 elected Mayor. He lived in this handsome Italianate style house between 1858 and 1880.
