Additional Information: | A 'site file' titled "Main Street Historic District" exists for this property. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. The original building was built by John and William Hein in 1887 and was a three-bay-wide two-story block to whose west side was attached a one-story addition, both of brick. In 1901, J. F. Dott, the then owner, had a second story added to the one-story portion and the main facades of the two portions were united and the building acquired it current four-bay-wide appearance. |
