NOTES
Additional Information:1999- "This two-story brick commercial vernacular building was rebuilt after the fire of 1910 by Mike Schmitt (the original building was built c. 1885 and housed a tavern and a residence). The building has a flat roof, simple crown cornices, and a blank frieze. The original first floor entry at the southwest corner of the building has been converted to a window. (Two original doors on the south facade provide access to the building.) The original brick exterior has been covered with concrete, which is embellished with a tooled stone pattern. Window openings remain unchanged, and replacement windows are similar to the one-over-one double-hung originals. A wrap-around front porch with a low-pitched shed roof is a newer addition to the building. The porch has a concrete floor and stairs, square slanting porch supports, and a brick rail. At one time the building was used as Dr. O.H. Herman Dental Offices. A non-contributing detached frame one-car garage built c. 1950 is located to the rear of the building."
