"Built in 1882 for Charles D. Vogel as a wagon shop. Vogel later took up construction and contracting. This was the parent business of the Vogel Brothers Building Company. Next door to Vogel's shop, in the vacant lot stood Edward Streidt's blacksmith shop. Streidt's home, built in 1886-1887, stands at 923 Williamson."
