Original permit lists J. Comeford as a "commercial traveler". One-story addition on rear elevation constructed in 1922. Early business tenants included a furniture and drapery store, ladies dress store, lunch counter, and tavern. By 1934 the property was owned by Schlitz Brewing Company.

Previously surveyed in 1979 with map code 45/23. Map name was LUQS 315.
