NOTES
Additional Information:This small shop building is one-story in height and has a gable roof. The walls are covered with shiplap siding and punctuated by symmetrical six-over-six-light double-hung sashes. An opening on the main elevation is covered with a double door of vertical wood boards.

This was the shop of James Jensen, boat builder, who came to Waupaca in 1889. The proximity of Waupaca to the Chain O' Lakes meant that a boat builder could have a small, but successful business in the nineteenth century. In his shop, Jensen built row, sail, and steam boats, as well as canoes. By 1898, he had built over 100 different type of boats.

It is in good condition with a high degree of integrity. Jensen had a long and successful career in the boat business and this resource represents his business that served a need for the local recreational economy.
