NOTES
Additional Information:The Irving Lord Block is a two-story Twentieth Century Commercial building with simple details. It has a plain cornice and pilasters supporting a stone frieze between pairs of openings. The openings have been partially enclosed with modern sashes and wood panels. The storefront has been modernized.

The building contributes to the architectural significance of the Main Street Historic District as an example of the Twentieth Century Commercial style executed by architect William Waters. Unfortunately the remodeling of the building has meant its original facade has lost some integrity. The building contributes to the historical significance of the district for its association with Irving Lord. Lord erected this building as his office while he was operating the electric utility in Waupaca and the local streetcar service. For several years, Lord's enterprises were successful. Although the streetcar service eventually died, Lord's handling of the electric utility helped it improve in the early twentieth century.
