NOTES
Additional Information:Two-and-one-half story frame house with narrow lap siding. Highly ornamented with features from the Queen Anne and Eastlake styles. Queen Anne features include the recessed porch with decorative pendants and a balustrade, horizontal siding, roof cresting on the porch roof, three-sided bay window, verge boards, and an encircling porch. Typical of the Eastlake style are the tapered round porch posts, spindle balusters, and fan-like porch brackets. These features are in an excellent state of preservation.

Built in about 1885 for Henry McNamara wh lived here until 1913. Soon after settling in Janesville, McNamara was employed as a traveling salesman. He later established a hardware store on W. Milwaukee Street.

"This Queen Anne style house occupies the site of the first public school in Look West, built about 1855. McNamara, who resided here 1889-1913, was a traveling salesman and hardware merchant."
