Additional Information: | ARCHITECTURAL SIGNIFICANCE: This structure is representative of early 20th century multi-story commercial / industrial buildings. Constructed of Cream City Brick it is one of a few extant outside of the monomonee River Valley or major industrial corridors. No original building permit. HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE: George B. Kling is a native of Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. He came to the United States in 1875 and first settled in Minnesota until he moved himself to MIwaukee in 1877. His manufacturing concern dealt with ropes, rope halters, twines, harness, saddles, bridles, whips, horse clothing and stable furnishings. The principle product was fly nets. Previously surveyed in 1979. Demolished prior to 1999. |
