Additional Information: | Historic name interpreted from historic plats. Circa construction date implied from observation. Other buildings include bank barn (AHI 117734), silo, sheds, granery and crib. This two-and-one-half-story residence has a massive pyramidal roof with wide eaves; large, centered gables punctuate the roof. A hip-roof, one-story, open porch with spindled supports exist along the east elevation. A modern, wooden ramp accesses the otherwise historic porch. A recent hip-roof porch extends nearly the full width of the main facade. Historically, Lucy Kelley owned this tract in 1860. By 1873, Pat O'Garra operated the farm.Simon Damp was a native of New York who settled in Lowell Township in 1845. Through at least 1894, he maintained a 240-acre farmstead.By 1920, Ida Soldner owned the ninety-five acre farm which remained in her family through at least 1947. |
