| Additional Information: | Gambrel-roof carriage house is also on the property. It consists of a concrete-block lower level, while the upper portion has been covered with asbestos. John Porter was an auctioneer, a member of the Townsend & Porter real Estate Co, and, in 1917, became the president of the Cambridge Power & Light Company. Supposedly the house was built to straddle the county line so that Porter could hold political office in both the Town of Oakland and the Village of Cambridge. |
