Additional Information: | A 'site file' exists for this property named 'Juliana and Lawrence Friedeck Farm'. It contains additional information such as correspondence, newspaper clippings, or historical information. It is a public record and may be viewed in person at the Wisconsin Historical Society, State Historic Preservation Office. This large, plaster faced, brick barn was constructed in 1908. The date is given on a date stone on the north facade. The brick structural system is carried throughout the interior where the first floor and the haymow are divided by a vaulted, brick floor/ceiling. In 2000, the barn has a wood framed extension to the east. It may have been built at the same time as the main barn, as the two roofing systems converge in a single open area at their juncture. The extension is scheduled for removal. The Friedeck family immigrated from Germany in 1881. (Census records) Also located on the property at the time of the survey was a two-story wood frame house. It was slated for removal. |
