NOTES
Additional Information:This two-story house has a stucco wall finish, hip roof with dormers, a belt course, and a semicircular hood over the front entrance. The house was built on the south lawn of the orignal Tallman property (AHI #11881) in about 1915 for Charles E. Tallman, listed in the 1919 city directory as a commercial agent for the Wisconsin Telephone Company. The house at 426 N. Jackson (AHI #11812) was built at the same time for Stanley D. Tallman.

"This pair of Tallman family houses built on the south lawn of the original Tallman property are representative of a style popular in the midwest prior to World War I. Prairie School ideas such as broad overhanging eaves, a stucco exterior with restrained ornament, and a horizontal emphasis achieved by the use of belt courses and grouped windows are characteristics of residences associated with Frank Lloyd Wright and his followers."
