NOTES
Additional Information:OTHER BUILDINGS ON SITE INCLUDE A GARAGE. This motel structure is composed of a hipped roof office unit covered with stone veneer and an adjoining L-shaped unit that is sheathed with both board and stone veneer. 2023: The Red Oaks Motel is a one-story building that was constructed in 1947. The hotel is a frame building with an L-shaped footprint, concrete foundation, hip roof with overhanging eaves, and is clad in wood siding, with accents of stone veneer. The section of the motel that runs parallel to Sheridan Road contains the office and four units, and the section parallel to 11th Street has an additional five units. Units are accessed by a single modern door and feature one-over-one, double-hung, vinyl windows. The office is accessed from a projected entrance bay at the southeast corner of the building. A secondary entrance on the south elevation likely leads to the owner’s living space. Additional fenestration includes one-over-one, vinyl replacement windows. Directly west of the motel is a one-story, frame garage that was constructed in 1947. It opens onto 11th Street, has wood siding, and is topped with a front-gable roof. Northwest of the garage are a utility shed and three-car garage, both constructed in 1990.
